Court Rentals
Racquetball - Downtown Branch
The Downtown Branch has 4 racquetball/handball courts.
Members can walk on to any court at no cost or pay $2.50 to reserve a court.
Tennis - East Branch
The East Branch has 5 indoor tennis courts.
Members can walk on to any court at no cost or pay $10 to reserve a court for an hour and a half .
Youth Sports
Basketball
4 & 5 Year Old Basketball Classes
This class is a fun energetic class for boys and girls to learn the very basic skills needed to play basketball. Basketball rims are lowered to 8 feet and a Jr. size ball is used.
K-2 Basketball League
This Co-ed league is designed especially for youth just entering league play. The games are played on an eight foot rim while using a Jr. size ball. Dribbling, Passing, Shooting and the basic rules will be emphasized. Score will not be kept in this recreational league. Practices will be held 30 minutes before game time. All coaches are on a volunteer basis.
3 & 4 Basketball League
The 3rd & 4th Grade Basketball League is separated by grade and by gender. This developmental league is based on core values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility while learning the skills necessary for play. Volunteers will teach the basic fundamentals of offensive and defensive skills required to play basketball. Games are played on a ten foot rim while using a regulation girls' ball. Practices will be held 30 minutes before game time. All coaches are on a volunteer basis.
Grades 5 & 6 Fall Basketball League
In this instructional league, youth will be broken up by grades and gender. Our trained volunteer coaches will help prepare the young athlete for Jr. High play which includes offensive and defensive plays. Games are eight minute quarters playing at either Donnell or Glenwood Middle Schools. League runs October through December.
Grades 5 & 6 Competitive Basketball League
Our Jr. High formatted league is broken up by grade and gender. Rules and regulations follow Jr. High OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association) guidelines which will help these young athletes get ready for play in Middle School. League standings will be kept and a tournament will be played at the end of the season.
High School Basketball League
This league is a competitive league designed for those not already on a school team. Stats and standings will be kept for season ending tournament play. There will be an end of the season All Star game. Games will be played at the Downtown Branch.
Flag Football
Co-ed Flag Football for Ages 4 - Kindergarten
Volunteer coaches teach the fundamentals of Flag Football. Basic hand-offs, proper throwing/catching techniques, blocking and sportsmanship will be taught. Thirty minute practices will be held before game time. Skills taught by trained volunteer coaches. Games will be played at Emory Adams Field.
Co-ed Grades 1 & 2 Flag Football
This league is an instructional league with volunteer coaches. Children will learn basic defensive and offensive schemes that help prepare them for the next level of play. Thirty minute practices will be held before game time. Games will be played at Emory Adams Field.
T-Ball
Co-ed 4 & 5 Year Old T-Ball
Volunteer coaches will teach the young athletes how to throw, hit, field, and run the bases. 30 minute practices before the game.
Co-ed 6 & 7 Year Old T-Ball / Coach Pitch
At this level of play we start to develop the skill of hitting without the tee and start fine-tuning some of those fielding skills. Designed to prepare the young athlete for the next level.
Judo at the YMCA
“A Family that THROWS Together GROWS Together”
Judo is a Martial Art which focuses on: Throws, Hold Downs, Chokes, and Arm Locks. Judo has been an Olympic Sport since 1964. In Judo, participants will develop coordination, self-control, self-esteem, learn teamwork, and how to set and achieve goals. Learning and reinforcing RESPECT is a major part of Judo. Judo is considered the best Martial Art for youth to learn. At the YMCA, all of the Judo Instructors are certified through the National Judo Organization.
The students will have the opportunity to be promoted through the National Judo Rank System.

Lil Dragons Judo 101 / Ages 4-7
This class is for beginners through white/gold belt. Participants will learn basic motor skills, teamwork, and basic judo techniques in this class.
Lil Dragons Judo 102 / Ages 4-7
Lil Dragons 102 is geared for those that are white/orange belts and up. Learn basic motor skills, teamwork, and basic judo techniques in this class.
Judo 101 / Ages 8-15
This class is for beginners through yellow/black belts. They will learn basic Judo techniques and have the opportunity to enter tournaments.
Judo 102 / Ages 8-15
This class is for orange belts and higher. This class will teach more advance judo techniques. This class will give the student opportunity to enter tournaments, attend clinics and camps.
Judo / Ages 16 & up
In this class you will learn judo techniques, self-defense, physical fitness, and to how deal with others. This class will give the students the opportunity to attend clinic, camps, and enter tournaments.
Tennis
Level I Tennis Lessons / Ages 4-6
Formerly known as Munchkin Tennis. Children will learn the basic skills of hand-eye & foot-eye coordination through a variety of fun and simple games. This class is a good introduction to the basic skills essential to developing a sound foundation for tennis. Parent assistance is encouraged. Racquet's not required.
Level 2 Tennis Lessons / Ages 6-9
Formerly known as Future Stars Tennis. Students will learn basic tennis stroke fundamentals, including ground-strokes and serving. Racquet's recommended, but not required. Information available on racquet's before you purchase. Parents may attend.
Level 3 Tennis Lessons / Ages 9-12
Formerly known as Jr. Development Tennis. Students enrolled in this class continue with the fundamentals introduced in Level 2. More focus on developing a "game" from which the player learns winning strategies.
Level 4 Tennis Lessons / Ages 13-18
Formerly known as Teen Tennis. Level 4 is designed for the teenager who has little or no experience in the game. Fundamentals taught are the same as in Level 3, but at a faster pace. Students quickly learn to play tennis, using proper scoring methods and rules..
Level 5 Tennis Lessons / Tournament Trainers / Ages 13-18
Level 5 is for anyone who is of the ability to compete in matches, tournaments and organized team play. Focus is on building an effective competitive game learning all the rules and emphasizing sportsmanship. Entry to this level is determined by staff.
Match Play Practice
This will be an instructed class allowing young athletes play against other participants. The instructor will be able to help fine tune strokes and skills on the court playing and practicing match play.
